When we think about our business networks, it is easy to picture the people in our local communities, the familiar faces at events, online meetings or the contacts in our phone. But as members of Women’s Network Australia, your network reaches much further than that.
Through our partnership with WEConnect International, WNA members are connected to a global community of 22,000 women-owned businesses, corporate leaders and partners working together to create opportunity, growth and impact. It is a reminder that while many women in business may face similar challenges, we are also part of something much bigger. (And if you are 51% or more women-owned and led, don't forget to register for free with WEConnect International and increase your visibility through our partnership.)
One of the most encouraging aspects of these connections is seeing how partnerships help showcase the talents, innovation and ideas of women in business. We often talk about the power of collaboration, and the best partnerships create opportunities to amplify each other's work and achievements.
A wonderful example is our partnership with Auto Women, which continues to highlight and celebrate women creating change within the automotive sector.
Recently, Auto Women celebrated the launch of Vesta Workwear and the new Apex spray suit by Anne McLure, developed specifically with female automotive spray painters in mind. What began as frustration around the lack of suitable personal protective equipment for female apprentices has grown into an innovative Queensland-designed solution focused on comfort, practicality, movement and safety.
There is something powerful in stories like these. Women identifying a problem, creating a solution and building a business around real-world experience.
Sometimes the greatest value of a network is not simply who you know, but seeing what is possible through the experiences of others. A connection in Brisbane can inspire an idea in Singapore. A conversation in Sydney can lead to a partnership overseas. A challenge experienced by a woman in Hobart can become an innovation that supports thousands more.
As WNA members, you are part of that story.
